Purchasing a Sterner Guitar
I currently have the following pricing. It reflects the cost of materials used and the effort and methods required to work with them.
Concert classical guitar, base price: $5500
- Master-grade Spruce or Cedar
- Master-grade Indian Rosewood standard
- Upgrades for back and side wood:
- African Blackwood, +$1500
- Sapwood center-strip design, +$200 (when available)
- Brazilian Rosewood, +$1500
- Sapwood center-strip design, +$200 (when available)
- Mosaic or organic rosette
- Fully carved crest
- Curly or brazilian rosewood binding, or other special
- Fancy purfling, like wheat or curl
- Alessi custom tuners, brass engraved with rosewood keys standard
- Upgrades for Alessi tuners:
- White or black mother-of-pearl keys and roller buttons, +$250
- Humicase Metro fiberglass case with humidifiers
- Many custom features are possible, and would be priced on a
case-by-case basis:
- alternate woods
- one-off rosettes
- unique tuning machines
- additional strings
- custom inscriptions
My waiting list is currently approaching one year. To reserve a spot on the list, I require a non-refundable deposit of $150, which is applied toward the purchase price. 10% of the purchase price is required before construction commences, and the remaining balance before the instrument is shipped to you.
