- Neck reinforcement

- The neck is sometimes reinforced for greater stiffness. The two stringers of ebony are glued in with epoxy.
- Attaching the fingerboard

- The fingerboard gets glued on using a long, rubber-lined caul. The whole assembly usually stays clamped up overnight.
- Final detailing

- One of final steps in the woodworking phase is cleaning up and detailing the heel area. When everything flows gracefully and crisply it's almost time to start polishing (gasp!)
